First Steps In Soccer

By Chris Solomons, 08/27/14, 8:00AM EDT

Chicago Fire Soccer In The Community (FireSITC) is proud to introduce an innovative program that allows preschool children to take their first steps in soccer alongside mom and dad.

FireSITC's Little Sparks welcomes children ages 2-5 into the beautiful game in a creative, nurturing environment. Parents are invited and encouraged to participate in an hour of fun-filled soccer and play-oriented learning.

I'm Chris Solomons, and I'm excited to be directing the Little Sparks program for FireSITC. I've worked around the world studying and designing soccer programming that engages the entire family, and it's a privilege to help the Chicago Fire grow the game at the grassroots level.

Whether it's a kick start to a child's day, or a pre-nap or afterschool activity, our introductory soccer program offers a healthy activity for every family.

"The program was incredibly interactive, helping to develop soccer skills while focusing on social/peer relations. We were so very pleased."

                                                   Parent- Lombard Park District

FireSITC will be offering Little Sparks at locations around Chicagoland this fall, including Naperville, Lombard Park District, and Oak Park Park District. You can learn more and register here.

This winter, we will be under the dome at the new Chicago Fire Indoor Soccer Center on the North Side.

And on Wednesday, September 3rd I will be hosting a free preview at Y Sports Complex in Naperville. There is no charge to attend, but please register as spots are limited. I would love to see you and your child there!
